1 Day Workshop
Aim:
For delegates to build on the knowledge, skills and confidence gained in ‘The Competent Presenter’ training course, in order to take their design and delivery skills to an advanced level.
Target Audience
Those who have completed the1 Day workshop ‘The Competent Presenter’
Numbers: 8 delegates (Numbers limited to allow filming of the presentations).

Pre event requisites
At the beginning of the workshop you will deliver a prepared 5 minute business presentation, firstly without the use of PowerPoint. Later in the day you will add PowerPoint to this presentation. Your audience will be the group on the training course with you, who will be from various roles across the organisation. The presentation should be on a work related topic, typical of the content which you will deliver in important business presentations.
There will be preparation time provided during the workshop, though you are advised to take the opportunity to prepare it before you come. Remember that your presentation should engage the group of people who are your audience on the day.
- PowerPoint . You require a basic level knowledge of PowerPoint. If you have slides that you feel you will want to use then please bring them with you on a memory stick. If you have one, please bring your laptop (with PowerPoint software).
You will have the opportunity to take away a DVD of your ‘before and ‘after’ versions of your presentation.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the workshop delegates will have:
- Following ‘The Competent Presenter’, re-assessed their existing strengths and weaknesses in designing and delivering high quality presentations.
- Delivered a business presentation and received supportive feedback on it.
- Clarified the key elements of effective preparation and delivery of high quality presentations at meetings.
- Identified the key elements present in an effective PowerPoint Presentation.
- Clarified a range of techniques to help the audience remember the key points of the presentation.
- Understood the key elements involved in persuading and convincing an audience Identified a range of powerful openings to presentations.
- Clarified a number of powerful endings to a presentation.
- Have re-designed their business presentation based on advanced planning techniques and in order to incorporate the advanced elements covered in the day.
- Rehearsed and delivered the same redesigned business presentation, enhanced with effective PowerPoint slides.
- Learnt and practiced a model for delivering powerful 30 second presentations.
